Toyin Abraham Ajeyemi (born 5 September 1982) is a Nigerian film actress, filmmaker, director, and movie producer.

Early Life and Career

She was born as Toyin Aimakhu. Toyin was born in Auchi, Edo State, Nigeria. But spent her early life in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State. She attended St Anne’s School Ibadan for her secondary school education. She went to Osun State Polytechnic Iree; from 2005 to 2007, where she had her Pre- National Diploma, and Ordinary National Diploma. She obtained a Higher National Diploma Certificate in Marketing from Ibadan Polytechnic. Toyin Aimakhu Abraham has starred in many Yoruba feature movies.

Toyin Abraham started acting in 2003, when Nigerian actress Bukky Wright came to Ibadan to film a film Toyin Abraham has made, directed, and starred in several Nigerian films over the years, including Alani Baba Labake and Ebimi ni. During the 2013 Best of Nollywood Awards, Toyin Abraham was nominated for Best Supporting Actress in a Yoruba film titled Ebimi ni, alongside Joke Muyiwa, who was nominated for Best Lead Actress in a Yoruba film titled Ayitale. Based on her acting career, Toyin has also been called upon by politicians to campaign for them. At one of the programs for Nigeria President Goodluck Jonathan’s re-election bid in 2015, the actress said she was prepared to die for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on whose platform Jonathan is contesting. But she later came out to apologize to her fans for the comments and advised Nigerians not to spill their blood for any politician. Martini Animashaun the CEO of Tinimash Entertainment created and managed her reality show titled (KUWTA) ‘Keeping Up With Toyin Aimakhu’ in fact, she came back a better person. In November 2020, Toyin Abraham and her husband, Kolawole Adeyemi surprised many people on social media as they shared photos of a luxurious Mansion in a plush area of Lagos. It is believed to be the new home of the couple, although they didn’t drop an official announcement. In 2020, Toyin Abraham was made the ambassador for Revolution Plus properties, a Lagos-based property outfit.

Toyin Abraham has also directed and released numerous movies including the popular Nollywood movie, Fate of Alakada.

In 2013, Toyin got married to Adeniyi Johnson, a Nollywood actor. But, the marriage lasted for two years. Then, in July 2019, she had a traditional engagement with Kolawole Ajeyemi, an actor too, and together they welcomed their first child in August 2019. Toyin Abraham’s son name is Ire Ajeyemi. She also has a stepdaughter name, Temitope Ajeyemi.

She changed her name from Toyin Aimakhu to Toyin Abraham in 2016. According to her, the change was her family’s decision. Her hobbies include; singing, dancing, and cooking.
