Elizabeth Aishat Anjorin Lawal (born April 4) is a Nigerian actress of Yoruba origin who features predominantly in the Nigerian Yoruba movie industry. She has won the Best Actress Award at the Young Achievers Awards in 2012, the City People Movie Award for Yoruba Movie Personality of the Year at the City People Entertainment Awards in 2014, the City People Movie Special Recognition Award at the City People Entertainment Awards in 2017 and the City People Movie Award for Yoruba Movie Personality of the Year (Female) at the City People Entertainment Awards for the second time in 2017.
Early Life and Career
Elizabeth Anjorin lived in Lagos State. Anjorin described in an interview with The Punch that at a tender age she had begun hawking edibles with her mother in the streets of Nigeria to earn a living. Anjorin completed primary and secondary school education and earned her First Leaving School Certificate and the West African Senior School Certificate respectively. In 2017 she graduated with a BSc. in Transport Planning and Management from Olabisi Onabanjo University.
In an interview, Elizabeth Anjorin described her passion for acting before officially debuting in the Nigerian Yoruba movie industry; the main drive which propelled her into that industry was the fear of poverty. Anjorin is a movie producer who has produced several movies; it was the movie titled Owo Naira Bet that solidified her notability as a movie producer as the movie received multiple positive reviews. Anjorin produced other movies such as Olani Gbarada, Gold, Iyawo Abuke, Kofo Tinubu, Kofo De First Lady and Owo Naira Bet.
On September 21, 2019, a Punch print media publication described the feud between Anjorin and Toyin Abraham as “the biggest feud in the Nigerian Yoruba movie industry” The misunderstanding between Anjorin & Toyin Abraham required the intervention of accomplished actors and the Yoruba movie industry veterans such as Antar Laniyan, and Iya Rainbow to mediate in their dispute.
