The Wait (Spanish: La espera) is a 2023 Spanish fantasy horror film directed and written by F. Javier Gutiérrez which stars Víctor Clavijo.
Plot
Set in the Andalusian countryside, the plot follows a gamekeeper’s personal nightmare after enduring the tragic loss of his family.

Production
The film was produced by Spal Films alongside Nostromo Pictures, with the participation of Canal Sur and backing from Junta de Andalucía. Shooting locations included the province of Seville.
Release
Film Factory boarded international rights to the film. The film was programmed to have its world premiere at the 30th Oldenburg International Film Festival on 14 September 2023. It was also picked up for screenings at the Fantastic Fest and the 56th Sitges Film Festival. It made it to the 2023 Vancouver International Film Festival slate for its Canadian premiere. It is scheduled to be released theatrically in Spain on 1 November 2023.
