Nelcie Souffrant is an American-born actress, writer and director born to Haitian parents on Long Island, New York.

Nelcie Souffrant made her first appearance at Sundance in January of 2020 for her supporting role Gail in the hit film “Zola” directed by Janicza Bravo and produced by A24 Films.

The copious, versatile, witty and fast learning Nelcie Souffrant, has portrayed roles such as the musically talented violinist Stacey in “Strings Attached”. the studious abused teenager Margaret in “Young Stan” and the vengeful mistress Jennifer “Life Is Too Short”while focusing and working ceaselessly in the film and television market. Nelcie studied at Play House West (Studio 4 NYC) studying Meisner at the school of award winning actor James Franco. Nelcie recently graduated from Brooklyn College where she obtained her degree in Theatre. Nelcie was a Finalist at the prestigious The Actor’s Studio. The feature film “Life Is Too Short” premiered ay the A.C Cine Fest Film Festival 2015 which Nelcie Won “Best Actress in Feature Ensemble” for role Jennifer in “Life Is Too Short. For the Same role Nelcie Also won “Best Actress” in a feature film at the I Filmmaker International Film Festival.

Nelcie’s most recent work “Strings Attached” which is written, directed, produced and starring herself, has been accepted into 12 Film Festivals Including: Cannes Short Film Corner, AOF Film Festival, LA International Shorts Film Festival, Rwanda Film Festival, Women in Film, Urban World presented by BET and Pan African Film Festival. Nelcie won the “Best Inspirational Short” Award with “Women With A Vision”, the “Best Young Filmmaker “Award at the 2014 AOF Film Festival and nominated at the Pan African Film Festival 2015 “Best Narrative Short” for “Strings Attached”. “Strings Attached” is currently showing on Aspire TV. Prior to that, Nelcie was nominated for the Achievement in Acting Award at the SoCal Film Festival 2013 for the lead role of Margaret in “Young Stan”. Nelcie was also a lead in the short film “Transporter” as Charlotte, which was a semifinalist in the Ron Howard Project Imagination Contest. Nelcie was in the top Finalist in the Ockober Film Festival 2015 Actor’s Competition.

Nelcie has worked alongside Andrea Rachel Parker who plays Destiny in Showtime’s “Power” and Bernice in HBO “The Deuce”. Nelcie also acts alongside Elijah Boothe’s who plays Young Cotton Mouth in Marvels Luke Cage she is his love interest in the feature film “City”.
