Pradhan is a 2023 Bengali language social action drama film directed by Avijit Sen. The film stars Dev, Paran Bandyopadhyay, Soham Chakraborty and Soumitrisha Kundoo in the lead roles. This film marks the third collaboration between Sen and Dev after the blockbusters Tonic and Projapoti. It is produced by Dev, Atanu Raychaudhuri and Pranab Kumar Guha under Dev Entertainment Ventures and Bengal Talkies.

The film will mark the big – screen debut of Mithai fame Soumitrisha Kundu. It is scheduled to release on 22 December 2023, on the occasion of Christmas weekend.

Premise

The story revolves around Deepak Pradhan (Dev), a young police officer. He gets transferred to Dharmapur Police Station, North Bengal where his junior officers are involved in corrupt practices. When disturbing events from the past start to surface and in face of the developing pressure, will Deepak be able to hold on to his principles and save his loved ones?.

Production

Development

Dev took to his social media handles to announce the film on 15 April 2023. The shooting was started from 25 August 2023. Both Dev and Soham went through huge physical transformation with cupping therapy and gym to lose weight for their roles in the film. On 10 November Dev announced wrap for the film.

Filming

The principal photography took place in Chalsa, Dooars, Samsing, Rocky Island, Mondol Gaon, Ranichera in North Bengal and Kolkata. During the shooting Dev fell ill and succumbed to high fever, but he recovered soon.

Marketing

The an announcement poster was released on 25 August 2023 to mark the beginning of filming. On 10 November 2023, the first poster was released at a press conference at Nandan. The trailer was releases on 4 December 2023.

Music

The music of the film will be composed by Shantanu Moitra, Anupam Roy and Rathijit Bhattacharjee. Bhattacharjee will also compose the background score. The lyrics are written by Prosen.

Release

The film is scheduled for a theatrical release on 22 December 2023 on the occasion of Christmas weekend.
