Parking is a 2023 Indian Tamil-language drama thriller film written and directed by Ramkumar Balakrishnan in his directorial debut. The film is produced by Sudhan Sundaram and K. S. Sinish under Passion Studios and Soldiers Factory and stars Harish Kalyan, M. S. Bhaskar and Indhuja Ravichandran in the lead roles. The film follows Eshwar, a young IT-employee, and his newly wed pregnant wife Aadhika’s conflicts about parking after recently moving to a new house.
Parking was theatrically released on 1 December 2023 to positive reviews from critics.
Synopsis
A newly married young couple Eshwar (Harish Kalyan) and Aadhika (Indhuja) both move into a new house as tenants and eventually make friends with fellow tenants. Eshwar is an IT professional and his wife Aadhika is pregnant and is expected to have a baby in due course. Eshwar then buys a car so that he can conveniently take his wife for travelling. Things went smoothly for the couple until they met the wrath of Illamparuthi (M. S. Bhaskar) as Ilamparuthi seems to have no mercy for the pregnant woman as he often engages in war of words with Eshwar over the parking space saga. Ilamparuthi does not want to sacrifice the allocated parking space to him which he has been enjoying for the past 10 years and his ego does not want to let anyone take his space. Ilamparuthi is an old man who is seen as out of touch with modernism. He is actually a year away from retirement of his duties as a government official. Meanwhile, Eshwar does not back up either as he gives a run for his money to Ilamparuthi although Eshwar is very much younger in comparison to Ilamparuthi.
