Fom what I know, ‘Panya’ stands for those who traveled to neighboring french west African countries after the civil war but never came back, they settled down in those countries, those who came back were broke but they love partying (Olingo) today, the word ‘Panya’ is used literally to express a foreign country of no return. people also use it to make mockery of those who has stayed long outside the country and came back broke, they say he or she went to ‘Panya’ .

also ‘Panya’ is hustlers’ street language (Slang) – meaning ‘Spain’ e.g if you are making hustling call in a public place and don’t want to mention country name, you call Spain ‘Panya’ make i no talk much before hustlers hack me.
