No Hard Feelings is a 2023 American coming of age s*x comedy film directed by Gene Stupnitsky from a screenplay he co-wrote with John Phillips. Jennifer Lawrence produces and stars alongside Andrew Barth Feldman. Appearing in supporting roles are Matthew Broderick, Laura Benanti, Natalie Morales, Scott MacArthur and Ebon Moss-Bachrach.
No Hard Feelings is scheduled to be released in the United States on June 23, 2023, by Sony Pictures Releasing.
Premise
The film is set in Montauk, New York, where Maddie, an Uber driver who is facing bankruptcy after her car is repossessed, accepts an unusual Craigslist posting. Her new employers are parents who have noticed that their socially clueless but academically gifted teenaged son is not interested in human interactions, dating women, or having sex. In exchange for a Buick Regal, she agrees to become their son’s “girlfriend”, to “date his brains out”, and help him to join adult life.
The movie title is a sexual double entendre denoting the teenaged son’s impotence.
