Mercy Eke (born 29 September 1993) is a Nigerian media personality, actress, video vixen and entrepreneur from Imo State. She won season 4 of Big Brother Naija in October 2019, becoming the first woman to win the reality show. She is the founder of MNM luxury.

On 14 March 2020, Eke received the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Award for Best Dressed Female.

She is also a contestant in the 2023 BBNaija all stars.

Mercy Eke was born in Imo State, Nigeria, on 29 September 1993. She graduated from Imo State University in 2014 after attending Egbu Girls Secondary School in Owerri. It is often said to be in psychology, although others claim it is in business administration.

Early life and career

Eke is from Imo State, Nigeria. She attended Egbu Girls Secondary School in Owerri, and graduated from Imo State University in 2014. Eke appeared as a vixen in the music video for Davido and Ichaba’s single “Baby Mama”. She also appeared in the music video for Airboy’s song “Nawo Nawo”. Eke auditioned for Big Brother Naija four times before becoming a contestant.

Career

Eke entered the Big Brother Naija house on 30 June 2019. She was announced as the winner in October 2019, becoming the first woman to win the show.

After winning season 4 of Big Brother Naija, Eke became an ambassador and influencer for various organizations. In 2020, she made her acting debut in the Nollywood film Fate of Alakada. Eke has also appeared in short comedy skits alongside a few Nigerian comedians.

Parents and family

Mercy parents are Mr and Mrs Akwudike Eke. She comes from a Christian family, consisting of her siblings of both brother and sister.

Her father, Mazi Akwudike Eke passed away in 2022 at the age of 70.

Siblings

She is the youngest of her parents six children. Mercy was raised in a low-income household, yet she and her siblings all had joyful, positive childhoods. Promise Eke is one of her sisters.

Partner/ Husband

Mercy developed a romantic relationship with Ike onyema, a housemate who was also her boyfriend in the Big Brother house. After the show, they carried on. But Mercy has reportedly been linked to some eligible bachelors on social media since the couple’s breakup, including Jowi Zaza. She was also said to be dating the Nigerian artist Tana, who lives and works in the US. None of these have been officially confirmed by the star, though.

As a result of ike onyema’s admission that he would choose the 60 million naira cash price above Mercy Eke, it is rumored that their relationship started to deteriorate. This and other intractable issues caused the split.
