Jontrona (Bengali: যন্ত্রণা transl. The Pain) is a 2023 Bangladeshi romantic action film directed by Arifur Jaman Arif Written by Abdullah Zahir Babu. The film features Ador Azad, Manoshi Prokrety, Sayma Smrity is going to make her silver screen debut through this film and Mahmudul Islam Mithu, Don and others. Earlier a film was made with the same name Jontrona (1988) directed by Kazi Hayat and the film starred Manna and Anju Ghosh.

Music
Produced by Smart Multimedia, the movie has four songs. Popular lyricists Sudeep Kumar Deep and Robin Islam have written two four songs each. The songs are sung by Akash Sen, Kana, Beli Afroz, Milan, Atiya Anisa, Ayan Chakladar and Karnia. Background music has been directed by National Award winning music director Emon Saha. Music by Robin Islam.

With cinematography by Panir Ahmed, the film was edited by National Award winning film editor Touhid Hossain Chowdhury.
Filming
The movie started shooting as Agnishikha but after the production, the name was changed and now it is going to the censors as Jontrona. Apurba Rana announced the movie Jontrona with Bappy Chowdhury and Zahara Mitu as hero and heroine. The shooting of the movie started on February 25, 2021. The shooting of the second lot also took place in the last week of June of the same year. The director could not continue after that. The movie has been stuck for two years due to various complications. Arifur Jaman Arif has shot again the movie Agnishikha under the banner of the same production company. The shooting of the movie was completed in February this year (2023). Editing, dubbing and other post-production works are going on throughout the month of March. Now it’s time to submit to the censors. In the meantime, it is known that Agnishikha is now going to be submitted to the censor under the name of Jontrona. Apurba Rana also gave permission to Arif.
Release
Arifur Zaman Arif’s film Jontrona was supposed to release on October 27, 2023. The release date has been postponed at the last moment despite all the preparations for the release. But now the new release date of the film has been revealed. Jontrona is going to be released in theaters on November 10, 2023.
