Sunita Mani (born 13 December 1986) is an American-born actress, dancer, and comedian. She played Trenton in the USA Network television series Mr. Robot (2015–2017) and Arthie Premkumar in the Netflix comedy series GLOW (2017–2019). She plays Margot Daly in the American black comedy television series Dream Corp LLC. She is the main actress for 2020 films such as Save Yourselves! and Evil Eye.
Early Life and Career
Born in Dickson, Tennessee, United States.
Mani attended Emerson College in Boston where she received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in writing, literature, and publishing. Mani started her career as a stand-up comedian while still in college. In 2008, after graduating in 2008 she joined the Upright Citizens Brigade and received training in improvisational comedy for three years. Mani was interested in dancing, and her passion led her to join the Cocoon Central Dance Team, where she worked as a dancer and choreographer.
She was born to her father Venk Mani who is a doctor and her mother Usha. There is no much information about her parents. There is also no information about her siblings if she has any. She is of Indian origin. Growing up, she was very acting in particularly everything. She played soccer and basketball. In addition, she danced and in school, she joined the student council.
Mani joined the Cocoon Central Dance Team where she worked as a dancer and choreographer. Mani began her career as an actress by appearing in Writer’s Block, an MTV web TV pilot, and also in commercials for Burger King and Levi’s. Her first appearance was in the 2012 film The Unspeakable Act, an American coming-of-age drama film written and directed by Dan Sallitt which won the Sarasota Film Festival’s Independent Visions Award. Mani gained public recognition for her dance performance in the music video for the song “Turn Down for What” which was released in December 2013. Mani also appeared in the drama–thriller television series Mr. Robot as Trenton. In 2016, she appeared in Don’t Think Twice, an episode of Broad City, and episodes of The Good Place. Mani was cast in the 2017 Netflix series GLOW.
She was featured in the 2022 movie “Everything Everywhere All at Once“.
