Sharif Said Juma (born 12 June 1997) popularly known by his stage name as Jay Melody is a Tanzanian-born singer and songwriter best known for his hit songs such as Nakupenda and Sugar.

Early Life and Career

Jay Melody was born on June 12, 1997 in Mwananyamala Hospital Dar es salaam, Tanzania. He is the last born of his parents, Mr and Mrs Said Juma.

Between the years of 2005 and 2011, he attended Muhalitani Primary School, which is located in the Tandale the Slam area of Dar es salaam. During that time, he received his primary education.

He attended Bunju A Secondary School from 2012 until 2015, during which time he was able to finish his secondary studies with flying colors. 

Between 2012 to 2015, Jay Melody attended Bunju Secondary School and completed his college education.

2016 was the first time Jay Melody stepped his foot in the music industry as he was enrolled as student at Tanzania House of Talent.

After a year of musical learning Jay Melody was finally signed by Epic Records Tanzania one the biggest record labels in the country owned by the entertainment Genius Ruge Mutahaba
Jay Melody release his debut single Goroka which before releasing Jay Melody wrote another smashing hit Kivuruge which he decided to give it to Nandy which after realese it became the mult national hit.
