Gregory Ojefua (born 3 July 1984) also called  “Teddy Bear” by his friends, is a Nigerian-born Nollywood actor of Edo origin who hails from Edo State, Nigeria. He is known for his role in films such as Gen. Ojukwu in “The Encounter”, Ibuzor in “Tinsel”, Chike in “Arbitration”, Peter in “Peter the Manny” and many more.

Early Life and Career

Ojefua was born on 3 July 1984 in Igueben, Edo State, Nigeria. He has a degree in Business Administration from the Adekunle Ajasin University, Ondo State.

He is also an Events Compere, Voice over Artiste and translator (English to Pidgin and vice versa), hails from Igueben LGA in Edo State and holds a B.Sc. in Business Management and Administration from the Adekunle Ajasin University, Ondo State. He speaks English, Nigerian Pidgin, Esan and Yoruba.

In an interview with the Punch he said;

Being the first and only son, I had a very close relationship with my dad growing up. We regularly visited amusement parks and I got to play with my cousins. As a child, I wanted to be like my dad at some point because my dad was able to balance being strict and playful at the same time. To me, he was the leader of the lion pride. I also have fond memories about my mum because anytime I was down, I always placed my head on her laps and it made me calm.

I studied Accounting at the University of Benin, Edo State. I also took an online course in Information Technology at the National Institute of Accounting Technicians. Also, I have a degree in Business Administration from the Adekunle Ajasin University, Ondo State.

Applauded and nominated BEST ACTOR IN A DRAMA (MOVIE/SERIES) by one of Africa’s biggest movie awards body; the Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards (AMVCA) 2017 for his amazing depiction of the Late General Odumegwu Ojukwu in the short film “The Encounter” Gregory Ojefua aka Greg OJ is a Nigerian Actor who has picked roles from both extremes of the age range, switching effortlessly from characters in their late 20s to as old as those in their 60s and even displaying expert versatility as he shuttles amazingly from comic to serious roles.

Fascinated so much by the make believe world since he was a child that at 8 he could recite 2-3 paragraphs of Julius Ceasar, Macbeth and other Shakespearian Classics. In 2009 he took part in the TV Show ‘Don’t forget the Lyrics’, after that he attended an audition and got cast for his first role on TV, a series titled ‘Winds of Change’ directed by Kalu Anya and produced by Lilian Okoro. Since then he has been all over TV and Internet featuring in so many notable productions like: Tinsel, The Encounter, Desperate Housewives Virgin Bride, Betrayal, Just not married, Men in Trouble, The Chase, Colourless..just to mention but a few. As a model he has also starred and featured in a number of pan Africa and local commercials.

Greg believes he stands out because of his uniqueness, deep voice, extra-large physique, easy going nature and playful spirit. He is also an Events Compere, Voice over Artiste and Plus Size Model. He hails from Igueben LGA in Edo State.
