Sopuruchukwu Bruno Onyemaechi (born 3 April 1999) is a Nigerian footballer who plays as a left-back or centre-back for Boavista and the Nigeria national team.
Early life and career
In the winter of 2018, Onyemaechi trialled with clubs in Norway, who used the player agent Atta Aneke. Onyemaechi was first on trial with Stabæk, then Lillestrøm together with compatriot Jerome Philip. Onyemaechi was brought to Lillestrøm’s Marbella training camp and played friendly games, but ended up not being signed.
On 17 August 2022, Onyemaechi joined Boavista on a season-long loan with an option to buy. In June 2023, Boavista triggered the option and signed him on a permanent deal.
International career
Bruno Onyemaechi made his debut for the Nigerian national team on 10 October 2023 in a 6-0 win against Sao Tome and Principe.
