Andy Le is an American-born actor, producer, and stunt performer who has worked in multiple films. Le has starred in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, The Paper Tigers, and his only self-produced project the Supreme Art of War. Andy also appeared in Wu-Tang: An American Saga as Fang. In 2011, Andy co-founded a martial arts club called “Martial Club” (disambiguation), which went on to direct stunts for multiple movies including Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings|Shang-Chi (2021) and Everything Everywhere All at Once with Michelle Yeoh. Despite his part in creating the club, Le has done multiple solo-stunting jobs without the group.
Early Life and Career
Le was raised in Orange County, California, United States where he grew up watching multiple Martial arts movie throughout his childhood. He claims this impacted his life choices and his decision to be a martial-artist later in life. Sometime in 2011 he and his brother, along with their mutual friend Daniel Mah, founded Martial Club. The club gained traction, and within its first year it published a YouTube channel. The club was named after the Martial Club movie, later recreated on his YouTube.
Luc Van Tien (film)|Luc Van Tien is an action-based re-telling of a Vietnamese legend. In the film, Andy stars solely for stunt performances, and is credited as “Duisher Bui’s Men”. The film is about Lục Vân Tiên being transported to the future, befriending a scammer, and saving Nga.
Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings is a film produced by Marvel Studios and Le’s most famous project. The movie centers around Shang-Chi (Simu Liu) ultimately saving his deceased mother’s village, and the world. Le plays Death Dealer (character)|Death Dealer, (disambiguation) who tortures a young Shang-Chi and serves the Mandarin (character)|Mandarin. (Tony Leung Chiu-wai) His stunts were performed by himself, and (allegedly) created by Martial Club.
Wu-Tang: An American Saga is a Hulu series about taking place around the up-rise of cocaine and cocaine addictions in the United States. The show centers around a bus-driver protagonist who strives to unite a group of young black men. The show was recently Green-light|greenlit for season two, premiering in the late-summer of 2021. Andy Le plays Fang in the show, and it is unannounced if he will return.
Andy Le’s YouTube career started in 2011 with his club, Martial Club. Since its beginnings, dozens of videos have been uploaded, almost always about the martial arts. On some occasions, shorts and skits are uploaded to the channel, most recently “The Supreme Art of War”. (2017) The skit centers around the protagonist Steven (Andy Le) fooling a mafia boss while playing cards.
